Doors and windows are not only the eyes of the architectures but also the essential part of the architectures. The unique geographical conditions and humanistic environment made Tibet a peculiar architectural decoration form. This article aims to study the shapes, decorated colours , decorated patterns, the cultural connotation and some related questions of the Tibetan architectures in Dbus Gtsang Region.With a long history, the Tibetan architecture , which plays important rolet in Chinese traditional architectural art, is a characteristic self-sustained architectural system with various forms. The doors and the windows of the Tibetan architectures have both the practical value and the decorative value. The Tibetan decoration is largely reflected by the doors and the windows ,they are the essential parts of Tibetan architectural decoration.The decoration style of doors and windows in the region of Dbus Gtsang(including Lhasa, Shannan, Xigaze) is more regional, the craftsmanship is more diverse.However, the structure, the shape and the color reflected the impact of multiculture. The decoration is definitely a perfect combination of functionalism and artistry and make out both a distinct plateau feature and a Tibetan cultural characteristic.Through the investigation to the doors and the windows over the Dbus Gtsang Region, this article firstly analysed and classified the data on the shapes, colors, cultural connotation of the Tibetan dwelling, monasteries and gardens with different types and various kinds of the material and craft. Then it combed out the unique aesthetic characterristics and multivariate cultural connotation the decoration contained to attempt to make a thematic discussion on the decorative features of Tibetan architectures. This article tries to improve the important cultural heritage research protection to a corresponding academic height and is willing to provide an objective and detailed research basis to the related study.
