Filial piety, ranking the first in Chinese ethics, originating the Chinese culture and being inherited from generation to generation for thousands of years, had gradually lost its traditional influence in all areas and been mainly influential in coordinating the relationship among family members as a kind of ethics. In spite of the change of its position, it was the urgent realistic basis of filial piety. Firstly, as a nation emphasizing the blood relationship, Chinese would not let the kinship go since ancient times. Secondly, as a result of the awkward situation that people's increasing of age was faster than the accumulation of wealth and the inadequate social pension system, the old should be raised by their children and family. Finally, filial had been the ideological basis for family. The article selected a common small village as the object, called Village Ji, and the author did a further study about the status and adaptive changes of the filial piety.
