| The American-Afghan writer Khaled Hosseini is a marvelous one among contemporary British novelists. As an immigrant writer who was born in Afghanistan, then migrated to the western world-America, he adheres to cultural pluralism in his literary creating,shows a real and humanistic Afghanistan to us during the war and suffering,reveals the strength and the hope of Afghan cultural,Hosseini is on the stage of world literature with his first novel"The kite runner"in 2003,and the new book has created a great sensation, he is the biggst dark horse in the world literature.His novels were "a political epic",and were also about humanity, religious faith,growth and femininity.in a word,Hosseini presents us a world that is numerous and complicated,but full of affection.That is a thought-provoking story,a different Afghanistan.This paper will analysis Hosseini's works in the three aspects of cultural identity,religion culture and the regresses and transcendence of tradition culture from the cultural perspective.And analysis Hosseini's multiple cultural identity with Edward Said's postcolonial theory, the affection from multiple religious culture in narrative structure,language art, content andartistic conception of his works.In order to understand the culture from the literature angle and aslo explains the literature from the cultural perspective.The paper consists of five parts: in the introduction, related studies on Khaled Hosseini both abroad and at home would be discussed, and the aim and significance of our research is also brought out.In chapter one, Hossein's multicultural identity as an immigrant is analyzed in detail. Hossein's multicultural identity was formed with his unique immigrant experience in life, It is this special cultural identity enables him to have the dual perspectives to survey the world, which was consciously shaped in his literary works.however,he is different from other migrant writers because Afghanistan that it is an extremely special country.This paper will Compare with Salman Rushdie who is the pioneer in post-colonial literature and Yan Geling who is representative writer of the contemporary new immigration literature in north American in the second and the third quarter of first chapter.In chapter two,on the basis of the novel The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns,we will discusses the influence on his values and literature creation that Hosseini get from multi-religious as the islamic culture,christian cultural and buddhist culture.The first section of this chapter will interpretate the comprehension of the value orientation and content in Hosseini's works from Islamism culture perspective.The second section, will analysis the creative conception and the spiritual redemption in Hosseini's works from Christian culture perspective. The influence from Buddhism culture in the concrete content and describing structure in Hosseini's works will be explained in the third section.In chapter three, through the analysis on the regresses of tradition culture and the transcendence of culture,analyze the process of the deviation,the regression and the transcend that Hosseini to the tradition culture.Furthermore, Writer pointed out that Hosseini as an immigrant writer, he has opend the mysterious and little-know aspect of Afghanistan,through the sense of responsibility,mission and the serious national introspection in his creation,have shown the particular character of "afghan-conscience" as an intellectual.In the conclusion part,it reiterates major points of this paper,and reveals the value of this paper by combining the present lingual context. |
