The Four Generations under One Roof is the most important works of Lao She in the period of anti-Japanese war. It is also an excellent resistance novel of china back in the 30s and 40s of the last century. The theme of anti-Japanese war is present throughout this novle. Revealing the evil of the aggressors and probing into the essence of the war is an important content of the novle. The war brought infinite harm to the people. Not only hopeless straits did the wars bring people, but also extreme psychic traumas. And the war destroyed humanity.The author reviled against the Japanese militarism who launched the war which reflected valuable human consciousness to eliminate war and construct human peace.Lao She pay attention to considering the root of enslaved of Chinese from the internal of Chinese nationality. In the Four Generations under One Roof Lao She exposed the weakness of Chinese nationality who lay too much stress on family and cowardice from national traditional culture angles.The ethics of Family-based center profoundly affected the Chinese cultural psychology constitutes and formed the Chinese private standard character. While the traditional feudal ideas and alien invasion had caused Chinese cowardice. Lao She saw the adverse effect of the Chinese national weakness to the country which of Family-based center and Weak perfunctory, etc. and criticize these nations' weakness. But Lao She never put our national spirit as a dark regiment. For the need of Anti-Japanese War, Lao She showed excellent character of Chinese in the war with patriotism enthusiasm such as unyielding integrity, sympathetic and national consciousness etc.
