The Application Of Traditional Chinese Pattern In Zith Adornment Design

The art of Chinese pattern has a long history, and in this thousands years of long history, it becomes an important part of traditional Chinese culture through the whole process of historical development of China. From the simple pattern of the ancient ceramics to the dignified pattern of the bronzes, from the pattern of the religion to the pattern of the palace, and even more the pattern about lucky. These traditional Chinese patterns not only reflect the human customs and ideas in specific period, but also show the unique art style and aesthetic consciousness in different age. How to apply these patterns into modern design is always a new research direction for the modern Chinese designers to seeking new design ideas and inspiration.This paper try to combine with the Chinese traditional musical instrument--Zither adornment design for research foundation, analysing the main source of traditional Chinese pattern and the art features of patterns about different theme, including the characteristic, structure, connotation and other art features, and then from the China national musical instrument adornment design, analysing the evolution of different historical period China musical instrument adornment design and the main adornment gimmick and trend of the modern Chinese Zither, at last, combining with the Chinese Zither adornment design, form the conception of design idea and the process of creation to the presentation of the work, taking its "form", inheriting its "connotation", applying the traditional Chinese pattern into the Chinese Zither adornment design.
