The Genetic Structuralism Totality Of Lucien Goldman

Humanistic Marxism was carried out vigorously during1940s to1950s, whose logic is the exertion of subjectivity and dialectics on the basis of totality. The totality which the early humanistic Marxists emphasized was based on the unity of subject and object. It was first proposed by Lukacs in the history of Marxism Development, and the humanistic logic had varied in the development process, Scholars wanted to resume the dialectics and revolutionary by the interaction of subject and object. If the logic of totality was recessive humanism, such as in the theory of Lukacs,Korsch,Gramsci, it had been confessed after1930s. Influenced by the development of Natural science, Economics and deterioration of proletarian revolutionary spirit, western Marxists took the individuals as the starting point of dialectics. Totality became the totality of individual, and many western Marxist scholars such as Sutter, Fromm, Bloch, and Lefebvre of early stage interpreted the totality of individual. Humanism totality became increasingly intense. Western Marxism was arose to object the single logical of economic determinism at the beginning, but it became single logic just as the dialectics turning to subjectivity dialectics.Goldman is the earliest scholar who realized the unity of humanistic logic and tried to put the dialectics of Marx on "Ought" and "Being", after birth of the structural Marxism, he defined his theory as genetic structural Marxism, and called Althusser's structural Marxism as non-genetic structural Marxism. Goldman insisted on the unity of subject and object, and he contributed new viewpoints to many concepts by drawing lessons from the theory of Lukacs, Hegel, Marx, and Piaget, such as the individual subject, social group, world outlook, the sense of reality and possibility of consciousness that constructed an "overall Meaning Structure" which constituted by Practice, theory and emotion. He thought history was a total dialectic structure which is complicated and dialectical. It was constructed by many structures and history is the process that new structure replaced old structure. But in the end, it is the subjects that create the history; of course this subject is collective subject. Collective subject creates history by the structural existence between themselves and Environment, themselves and other groups. So epistemology of genetic structural Marxism considers the history structure and mental structure of the groups are in the relationship of isomorphism. Only Literary works or philosophical theory reflects the isomorphism structure, could they be outstanding work and complete their task. The reflections connected with possible consciousness in most cases with method from abstract to concrete. Thus Goldman became the transition link from humanistic totality to structuralism totality.
