Southern Song Dynasty Cultural Policy Research

During the Southern Song Dynasty,the economy boomed, cultural education was popular, art and literary were extraordinary splendour, sciency and technology had achieved great progress, but, it also faced threats and war from the Jin, Mongolian from the beginning to the end. In such environment, the rulers of the Southern Song Dynasty inherited and developed the cultural policy of the Northern Song Dynasty, making a more systematic culture policy. Rulers of the Southern Song Dynasty pay attention to Confucianism, and all kinds of schools exsit,until the confucianism became the only;pay attention to history, set up complete historiographer system, revised rich history, encourage prevates to write history, so works were various; developed college education vigorously, making education more popular;respected the Buddha,repressed the folk religions unfavorable to political rule; Central and local publishing organization were numerous, publications were abundant,manage the publications content, circulation and copyright, forming a systematic publishing policy. The culture policy of the Southern Song Dynasty had such characteristics as turn inward, cultural popularization, content revealing multiple, and maintaining regime interests,it strengthened the Southern Song Dynasty regime,promoted the cultural development, and also promoted culture communication between the Southern Song Dynasty and the surrounding nationalities.
