Embroidery is the significant art model in the history of traditional handicrafts in china whose crafts and artistic expression is quite advanced in the Western Han dynasty .The most typical masterpiece is regarded as the embroidery which is excavated in Ma Wang Dui tomb of Han dynasty. Embroidery of Ma Wang Dui tomb is one style of Chinese traditional decorate pattern which has a long history with its formation and development. It originated from the good wishes of being fairy, the worship to great nature and the abstract of everything's movements.By clearing up the information in the Western Han dynasty, we are able to summarize the evolving laws from the development of Chinese embroidery pattern and we can find out the difference between Western Han dynasty and other times. This papers set the examples as three kinds of embroideries as Cheng Yun embroidery,Xin Qi embroidery,Chang Shou embroidery of Ma Wang Dui tomb ,take focus on the evolving laws of embroidery at that time and Give the point of view about formal language which belong to the subject of Semiotics. Characteristics of shape, skeletal features and formats are all analyzed deeply as the external pattern. The unit of embroidery are divided into rectangle, rhombus and disappeared outline according to different embroideries."S"shape is dominant part of embroidery, auxiliary patterns are made by extending changes and rotating bending sports. Metaphor, magnificence, linking and interconnecting are the main forms to constructing the embroidery pattern. Different embroideries stand for different faith through the manifestation of intrinsic Value of culture. Chang Shou embroidery shows the good wish of good fortune and happiness; Xin Qi embroidery shows the good wish of strong fecundity; Chang Shou embroidery shows the good wish of well-being. Last but not the least point is we can draw the conclusion by visual and artistic analysis of Variant gas lines which are the representative of Ma Wang Dui embroideries."Correspondence, connecting, equilibrium, fulfilling";"co-existence of yin and yang, rotating dancing";"material restructure, free extension"are the important features of realizing the beauty. Only by the ways of understanding and appreciating the images, we are able to find out the significant historical value and aesthetic value of Ma Wang Dui embroideries.
