The Innovation Research Of Dynamic Symbol Design

From the logo of Universal Exhibition Hannover 2000 to the one of Nagasaki Museum, London 2012 Olympic Games and Google, dynamic symbol has been used so wildly since its inception eleven years ago. Many excellent dynamic symbols like the bamboo shoots are like an omnipresent spring rain blossom. It has attracted many designers to do research about it.The development of new media, the change of corporate value and image, the development of society and the change of aesthetic consciousness gave birth to the dynamic rapid development of the symbol. However, the research related to the topic is sparse. Most of them are about definition and the difference between dynamic symbol and static symbol. From the aspects of"how to move","what is moving"and"the way of moving", according to comparative analysis and case analysis, I classified the dynamic symbols and described the characteristics of each classification. Based on this research and a large number of excellent examples, I find the way to design dynamic symbol through three aspects: change shapes, change colors, blend in music and change textures. Each part of them can be designed dynamically. Or any of them can be combined together to complement each other's motion making the symbol more vivid.The development of dynamic symbols in the future must be brought on by design innovations. The innovation contains three parts: The first one is internal thinking of the designer. It is the soul of symbol design. The second one is design element innovation. Symbol must be used in visual identification system. The last one is application innovation. Society is continually changing everyday through innovation and therefore dynamic symbol must follow suit in order to become more mature.
