From the beginning of the eighties of last century, body image in Western countries has gradually become a hot topic in psychological research. However, the existing researches on influencing factors of body image only have a static analysis. By the theory of developing ecology proposed by Brofenbrenner, this paper analyzes two influential factors of body image, one is social norms which belongs to the macro system, the other is peer, which belongs to the micro-systems."Social Norms" here is limited to the norms on female physical appearance and "Companion View" here is only about the physical appearance of females. In this paper, the"Social Norms"and" Companion View"of the two variables were tested by examining the cognition on social norms and companion view about female physical appearance. The samples of formal questionnaire are selected from the three universities in Chengdu to excel in every university disciplines represented, and accordingly select the science, engineering, liberal arts students with three types of survey subjects. Each subject, each grade of the 50 people selected as subjects, a total of 600 subjects. Complete personal information, answer no omissions, no obvious answer to the anomaly (the wavy answer, identity answer the same questions more than one answer selected situations such as the anomaly was answered) as to retain the standard questionnaires to obtain 586 valid questionnaires. In studyⅠ, I revised "Negative Physical Self Scale" proposed by Chen H., and drew up "Questionnaire of Female Undergraduates'Cognition on Social Norms about Body Image" and"Questionnaire of Female Undergraduates'Cognition on Companion Belief about Body Image". After item analysis, reliability and validity testing, the results show that the three questionnaires are available. In studyⅡ, I took the "Questionnaire of Female Undergraduates'Cognition on Social Norms about Body Image" as a tool to analyze the characteristics of female undergraduates'cognition on social norms about body image. The results showed: (1) More than 50% female undergraduates obviously percept thin social norms and tend to consider lean girls have more advantage; (2) There are significant differences on subjects, born places, and BMI(Body Mass Index), but not on grades. In studyⅢ, I took the"Questionnaire of Female Undergraduates'Cognition on Companion Belief about Body Image"as a tool to analyze the characteristics of female undergraduates'cognition on companion belief about body image. The results showed: (1) Approximate 50% female companion groups obviously tend to consider lean girls have more advantage; (2) There are significant differences on subjects, born places, and BMI (Body Mass Index), but not on grades. In studyⅣ, I took " Negative Physical Self Scale", " Questionnaire of Female Undergraduates'Cognition on Social Norms about Body Image" and"Questionnaire of Female Undergraduates'Cognition on Companion Belief about Body Image"as tools to explore the social norms, peer views and the relationship between female body image, To further understand the social norms of the peer view, the role of female body image. The results showed: (1) The physical appearance of the social norms have a positive predictive view of the role of peers, social norms of physical appearance has a positive predictor of body image, physical appearance of the companion view of body image also has a positive effect; (2) Peer perception of social norms in the prediction of body image plays a mediating role.
