The first part of the article is the introduction. In this part, the author at first defines the periods the objects exist in and the regions they lie in, and then summarizes the research statuses about the Xinjiang prehistoric joint burials.In the second part, the author reviews the brief history of the contributions on archaeological excavations of the Xinjiang prehistoric joint burials and sorts the information systematically according to the joint burials'shapes.In the third part, the Xinjiang prehistoric joint burials are classified in three types by the differences in their shapes and structures:the earthen pit burials, the earthen adobe burials, and the earthen stone chamber burials. According to the different ways to bury, the joint burials can aslo be divided into A)the same hole burials, and B)the different holes burials. At the same time, according to the buried layer relation, Ji A), Yi A), Bi A) buried layer into a) single layer buried, b) multi-layer buried. Among them, the Ji), Yi) and Bi) buried surface and the tomb structure is different, have different characteristics. Summarizes the relationship between the joint burial type and buried form.In the part four, the author sketches out the areas that the joint burials are located in and the distinguish from those areas and analyzes the influencing factors which could lead to the above distinguish from the perspectives of geography, ideology and social development. Finally, it is presented that one of important factors is the communicating and coordinating between the cultures from the immigrant ethnic groups and local people.
