On Zeng Guofan Family Ethics And Its Modern Value

The education of family ethics has important principle and the practical value both to family members and society. Tseng Kuofan is a very famous people in Chinese modern history and has a high place in the family ethics which was impact on various social classes. It is significant for the development of Chinese modem family ethics to study Tseng's theory. This paper mainly studies the family ethics theory of Tseng Kuofan, including the sources of theory, the main contents of theory and the modern values of theory. It consists of the following four chapters.The first part mainly introduces the significance of the teaching of family ethics, and with the social and economic developed in a high speed there are many family problems cause the lack of family education in China now. Proposed the main point of this paper is that Tseng's family ethics theory is significant to solute the Chinese family problems. Reviewing the origins of the theory and its main contents and proposing the point of this paper is to solute the Chinese modern family problems through studied Tseng's family ethics theory.The first chapter introduces the sources of Tseng's theory. List the three main sources of the theory. Firstly Tseng's theory comes from Chinese traditional culture. Tseng's family ethics theory based on Confucianist moral thought and anastomosed the thought of other thinkers and having suggested uniquely. Secondly, Tseng's family ethics theory comes from the influence of Tseng's family trait. Tseng's grandfather and father regard "work and read" as a family heirloom, respect for education and do it themselves, all of them influence Tseng's theory. The third source is the eventful life of Tseng himself. Tseng stricted with himself all his life and summarized a lot of valuable experiences and becoming one of important theoretical sources of Tseng's family ethical theory.The second chapter introduces about how to keep house, how to education and how to communication with friends and neighbors. Tseng thought that filial and affection make homes heirloom. Filial to the elders and love to brothers make family harmony and stability. The family members should be hardworking and modest then the family can flourish. This paper is from the angle of how to study to learn Tseng's family education. Reference the purpose of learning and the methods of learning. Finally summarized two aspects that Tseng regard good-neighborly relations is very important for communicating with neighbors and friends.The third chapter introduces the modern value of Tseng's theory and its modern reflection. From Chinese modern family problems existing Zeng's theory is helpful and important to solute the modern family problems. Finally summarizing concrete behaviors from Tseng's theory, it is really value and significance for reference and inheriting Tseng's ethics theory.
