This thesis inquires into the Ramp tombs which are mainly located in Tarim Basin, Xinjiang province. On the basis of shapes and burial customs analysis, main conclusions are as follows:Ramp tombs include two types:the stone-constructed graves and and the pit-scaffolding tombs which have wooden scaffolding. The latter have two diffident shapes:the shovel tombs and the kitchen-knife tombs. The stone-constructed graves are distributed in the cemeteries of Chawuhu and Habuqihan, in the north of the Tarim Basin. The shove-shape tombs are distributed in the Lop Nor and the cemeteries of Qunbake and Shanghuxiang; The kitchen knife-shape tombs are widely distributed in the southern Tarim and the Lop Nur region, such as the cemeteries of Qunaishanya, Shanpula, hagunluke, Jiawaairike.The burial bodies have two types:the bodies with straight arms and legs, which are found in cemeteries of Qunaishanya, Shanpula, Pingtai, Gutai and Laokaiping; he bodies with bending arms or legs, which are found in cemeteries of Chawuhu, Habuqihan, Shanghuxiang, Zhagunluke and Jiawaritike. Cremation tombs are found in Qunbake, Shanghuxiang, Jiawaairike and Qunaishanya.Region characters may be the result of the culture communications in Tarim Basin...
