The creativity of young adults is always important for human knowledge evolution. Gender differences among young adults motivation is also under discussion for many years. Meanwhile, the working domains are also considered to be an influencing factor. It is always considered that the difference of motivation and performance among males and females resulted from the social gender identity, which could be aroused by romantic environment. To clarify the interaction of these factors and discover the essence of gender effectiveness, the current study is designed to discuss the gender effectiveness of romantic desirability on scientific motivation and performance of young adults working in scientific and non-scientific domains. The current study firstly approve the premise of hypothesis-the gender implicit stereotype, that is, males are more related to Science and females are more related to Art, equally existed among young adults working in scientific and non-scientific domain. The consistence of implicit stereotype in all domains indicated the stereotype generally existed. In addition, the gender difference in internalization of implicit gender stereotype also existed. The implicit gender stereotype could not predict the implicit scientific attitude of males. However, the implicit gender stereotype of females could significantly predict their implicit attitude. This gender difference could appropriately predict and explain the different behavior of males and females under romantic goal activation. On basis of the premise, the current study discussed the gender effectiveness in two different perspectives:the scientific participation and performance. The information of scientific participation is collected by directly asking participants' willingness to engage in scientific domain. The scientific performance is presented by the score of scientific creative problem finding, which has three dimensions:fluency, flexibility and originality. The results of scientific participation indicated that males in all domains would not affected by romantic goal activation, which is consistent with the result in last study. Because men's implicit gender stereotype would not affect their scientific attitude, the implicit stereotype aroused by romantic goal activation would not affect men's scientific participation. On the other hand, females working in different domains presented different scientific participation pattern. Females working in non-scientific domains distanced themselves from science after arousing gender identity by romantic environment and showed significant decrease of scientific participation. However, females working in scientific domains tend to report higher willingness to participate in science after romantic goal participation. The results of scientific performance showed similar but slightly different gender effectiveness. In accordance with scientific participation, the performance of males is still not affected by romantic goal activation. Females working in scientific domains showed a significant increase in all three dimensions of scientific creative problem finding, which is consistent with scientific participation. While females working in non-scientific domain showed significant declination in fluency of scientific creative problem finding. This could attribute to the relatively higher scores of females working in scientific domain. On the other hand, the flexibility and originality of females in non-scientific domain are too low to decrease. In conclusion, the gender effectiveness of romantic environment on scientific motivation and creativity generally existed. The males are always not affected by romantic goal activation, while females would be influenced in different pattern. Females working in scientific domain would not decrease their scientific participation as well as scientific creative problem finding ability under romantic goal activation. However, the fluency of scientific creative problem finding would be influenced among females working in non-scientific domain.
