The record and description of shanghai genre's art during latter Qing dynasty in Chinese art history affirmed sufficiently the form and contribution of Shanghai Genre's art while it also analyzed and combed the style of shanghai genre represented by Ren Bonian, Wu Changshuo, Cheng Shifa and the like."New Shanghai genre" matured in recent years will have a brighter future owing to Shanghai's geographic superiority.Since1980s Chinese painting enters into a new stage of development with growing influence of western art and new Shanghai genre is gradually forming its globalized art genre and style, becoming a unique art phenomenon as Shanghai Painting World is stepping into a diversification course.In this thesis, I will reorganize the venation of development from Shanghai genre to post-Shanghai genre to new Shanghai genre and define the concept of new Shanghai genre and grace touch referred in this article in chapter one; in chapter two and three try to combine some representative artists'works in new Shanghai genre (like Chen Jialing, Zhang Guiming and Lu Fusheng who are respectively in different age groups) and probe into grace touch presented in ink paintings of new Shanghai genre; at the end give a promising prospect for the future of ink painting in new Shanghai genre. This article will focus on the case analysis of Chen Jialing's, Zhang Guiming's and Lu Fusheng's works so as to offer helps to developments of new Shanghai genre and art research and express the humanistic spirit of this special genre, serving for Shanghai's cultural construction.
