Carving Art Of The Ancient Village. Mentougou Vernacular Architecture

Beijing Quadrangle represents the ancient dwelling in northern China. Because of the unique geographical environment in Mentougou, the unique mountain courtyard style quadrangle formed the ancient village. Mentougou is located in the mountain area, the ancient architecture was quite different to the architecture in plains. It was quite irregular that the ancient dwelling affected by the terrain. The villagers treasured the limited homestead, used the space smartly and rationally. They enlarged the using space and keeping the good overall layout of the house. The Mentougou existing ancient dwellings are basically the relics of the Qing Dynasty. Through the study of these ancient buildings, the glory of the mountain area and the ancient villagers'mart can be seen.The strong cultural atmosphere and the fine decoration can be felled from the inside decoration of the Beijing Quadrangle, the complementary of the decoration topic and the building carrier shows the Chinese culture which is:architectural culture, aesthetic philosophy, folklore philosophy, values, ethics, moral values, traditional philosophy, and political system, the multi-disciplinary cross.This article aims at through the field surveys, the literature and image data collection, integration an analysis, to combing and elaborating the contents and the techniques of the Mentougou ancient dwellings and villages, in order to reflect the folk culture. The article based on the previous research, through the literature research, field survey, to study the unique of the Mentougou ancient dwellings and the ancient villages.
