Transformation And Complementary Of Narratology:from Classic To Post-Classic

Narrative theory is increasingly becoming an important or more important literary theory. It has gone through two stages of development which are Classical Narratology and Post-Classical Narratologies. On the relationship between them, Chinese and foreign academics hold a variety of views such as obsolescence transcendence coexistence and so on. Knowledge and study of the relationship between Classical Narratology and Post-Classical Narratologies are not only helpful to the study on the development history of Narrative theory, but also helpful to construction of Narrative criticism theory.Based on the study of Narrative theory, organizing and thinking of the process of the development, evolution, change of it, analysis and comparison of Classical Narratology and Post-Classical Narratologies, this paper reach to a convincing conclusion that their relationship is complementary. Classical Narratology inherits the theory components and concepts of classical Narratology, and some post-classical Narratology themselves are considered to be the latest development of Classical Narratology. Although the two theories are on the face of contradictory and exclusion, They are essentially mutual coexistence. In shhort, the relationship between Classical Narratology and Post-Classical Narratologies are complementary to coexist.
