In 2008, Barack Obama made full use of the Internet and won the presidential election of the United States. Obama's victory appeared to indicate that political communication may have entered upon a new stage of development.This thesis investigates the theoretical and historical background of such a new stage, the interrelationship of e-politics and the Internet, and how all these connected with Obama's campaign strategy for his 2008 presidential election.
