Principle of Protection of Legitimate Expectation is originated in Germany. In German Law, it is closely linked with the revocation of administrative acts. Then, it is gradually accepted by other countries. The principle has its own unique way in England and European Union. In the two countries, this principle is embodied not only in the legal documents but also in the judicial practice. It plays an increasingly important role in protecting people's interests and improving government work.At present, principle of reliance of protection is only introduced in the revocation of administrative acts. The scope of its applicability is limited. We can draw lessons from studying its practice in EU and UK, thereby improving our system. Finally, we can achieve the goal of protecting people's interests and improving government work effectively.The thesis consists of the preamble, main body and the epilogue. Particularly, main body is composed of three chapters.Chapter One, the general theory about Principle of Protection of Legitimate Expectation. This chapter includes its origin, meaning, foundation of theory, relationships with other similar principle, function and protection mechanism.Chapter Two, its practice in the EU law and UK law. This chapter focuses on its specific practice in the EU law and UK law, including various situations. The author not only indicates their diffrences but analyzes and evaluates their own practice. On this basis, the author reviews their own strengths and weaknesses, thereby drawing lessons from them.Chapter Three, the introduction and reference of Principle of Protection of Legitimate Expectation. Based on the study above, the author analyzes and discusses the necessity and feasibility of introducing this principle into our country.
