The further development of Sino-Myanmar relations after the Cold War results in the cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, cultural and other areas, and the Sino-Myanmar oil and gas pipelines under construction brings the Sino-Myanmar relations to a new height. The development of Sino-Myanmar relations after the Cold War is jointly promoted by China and Myanmar. Both countries believe that it is consistent with their own interests to develop good-neighborly and friendly cooperative relations. China consistently carries out an independent foreign policy of peace, hope myanmar remains stable, and regard Myanmar's strategic position. In the face of western sanctions, Myanmar needs China's political support and economic aid, hope to develop its economy through the trade with China. The development of Sino-Myanmar relations after the Cold War are influenced by many factors in which the external factors are mainly the reaction of The United States and India to Sino-Myanmar relations. The United States is extremely concerned about the development of Sino-Myanmar relations, openly criticizes China's support for Myanmar, urges China to pressure Myanmar. Whereas China's silence and inaction result in the impression that China is irresponsible, and China's national image gets damaged. India regards China's activities in Myanmar as a threat, worries that China might surround India strategically through Myanmar. As a result, India strengthens its ties with Myanmar gradually, and competes with China positively. China should actively respond to the two external factors which affect the development of Sino-Myanmar relations.China consistently carries out peaceful foreign policy when China exchanges with Myanmar, doesn't interfere Myanmar's internal affairs. The Sino-Myanmar relations are equal bilateral relations, and it is in the interest of the China and Myanmar to develop good-neighborly and friendly cooperative relations. Although Myanmar has already established an elected government, the Sino-Myanmar good-neighborly and friendly cooperative relations will continue to move forward in the short time. It is less likely for Sino-Myanmar relations to have heavy setbacks even if the junta no longer intervenes politics, but the Sino-Myanmar relations will not be as close as it is today in all probability.
