Mao Zedong's educational equality thought is an important part of Mao Zedong thought, and is also an important field in the science of Mao Zedong thought. Mao Zedong's educational equality thought has profound historical and theoretical source, which influenced by the education theory of Marxism except for the school education, social education and the thought of chinese traditional education. From the early beginning of 20th century to the fifths and sixths of the 20th century, Mao Zedong's educational equality thought has came through periods of the bud, development, mature and further development, his educational equality thought had developing and improving constantly. It not only includes the general content of educational equality, which namely educational equality 's three layers: start justice, education face all people, no matter the sex, status, nationality and position;procedural justice, it includes implement education reform and provide equal education resources;result justice, it includes abolish division of labour and the all-round development, but also includes the dependent condition, the implement of political and economic justice and a variety of school-running institution, Mao Zedong's educational equality thought has distinct characteristics of times, political, national identity and comprehensive. Mao Zedong's educational equality thought shape and develop in the education revolution and practice, combine with basic principles of Marxism, it has not only inherited and developed the Marxist theory of education, and enriched Mao Zedong thought. The mass of anti-illiteracy movement, the thought of raise standards and popularization and the thought of education productive with labour after the liberation had promoted the improvement of education. Enter a new period, Mao Zedong's educational equality thought take a great significance in the building socialistic harmonious society and improving the livelihood. In the process of solving the educational equality problem, we should know the improvement process which from equality to the balance, solve the problem of balance and equilibrium,realize the importance of law during the process of improving the educational equality, definite that the main resource of supply is the government. Mao Zedong educational equality thought is rich, and it is of profound meaning, but there are also some mistaken ideas. Only if we correctly recognize these ideas, and draw a lesson, they also can have a positive role guidance to contemporary development of education.
