Since nationalism was born, it has always been one of the world's most powerful social political strengths and it affects the international politics profoundly. In the past 20th century, the world has undergone three nationalist tides. Tide of the 3rd nationalism, from the late 1980s and early 1990s began to sweep all around the world, was famous for its broad scope, the fierce degree and many kinds of forms. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, after Soviet Union Regime collapsed and drastic changes took place in Eastern Europe, tide of the 3rd nationalism as the strong shocks, with the international political system and the changes of the transformational international politics and pattern, deeply affected the development and change of international politics, thus, causing the international community gave nationalism universal attention.This essay attempts to analyze from the reason, form, characteristic and the change trend of the 3rd nationalism, analyzes the tide of the 3rd nationalism on international political influence after the cold war, and predicts the influence of 3rd nationalism on the future international trend.
