Democracy In Post-cold War International Relations To Explore

Nearly four hundred years of history of international relations, that is, all sovereign states pursue the history of sovereign equality and independent. Therefore we can say the democratization of international relations is always the pursuit of value orientation and norms of behavior of all sovereign countries. Modern, especially since the post-Cold Wa after that was the cold war had ended, due to various positive factors' appearance, such as economic globalization, world multi-class and international democratic trend which promote the rapid development of democratization of international relations,but due to negative factors'existence, such as hegemony, power politics and unreasonable old international order, its further development still faces many difficulties. Democratization of international relations involves the development prospects of the history of mankind, concerns the international system's profound change, has very important relationship with the national development strategy, has a crucial role in the health and stability of the future international relations,also involves lasting peace and prosperity of the world. And thus it is very necessary to make in-depth research on the further development of the democratization of international relations theory and practice.This article is divided into five parts. Negative factors include: democratization of international relations's complexity has hindered its further development; the hegemonism and the power politics are still in vogue; the unreasonable international old order still exist; political priority for the economy; there is an inherent defect in international mechanisms and international organizations; the related thoughts in the western international relations theory bring negative effects.The fourth part makes a number of thinking of the development of the effective promotion of democracy in international relations after the Cold War, which involves continuing to strengthen and create conditions conducive to the development of the democratization of international relations, mainly including:continuing to raise the global democratic awareness and to strengthen the construction of the whole world civil society; continuing to promote the development of economic globalization; creating favorable conditions conducive to the development of multipolarity and multilateralism.Eliminating the negative factors which are not conducive to the development of the democratization of international relations, mainly including:to properly handle the relationship between the democratic system and mobility, weakening the complexity of the democracy in international relations; opposing hegemony and power politics; discarding the old international order and establishing a new international order; balancing political and economical relations; improving the functions of the international mechanisms and international organizations, eliminating its inherent flaws; abandoning the misleading of the theory of the Western international relations to the democratization of international relations.
