Liu Shaoqi's democratic ideas had a profound influence on the history after the founding of new China; it is the theoretical cornerstone of the Socialist democratic politics construction with Chinese characteristics. In the historical process of advancing sinicization of Marxism, Liu Shaoqi made arduous exploration in China's democratic political construction. He put forward unique and profound opinions, formed characteristic democratic ideas, and established the core value of "people being the masters" fundamentally, which laid a theoretical foundation for the democratic politics construction of new China. Liu Shaoqi's democratic thought is the combination crystallization of Marxism democratic theory with China's socialist democracy building reality. It represented communists'understanding level on the issue of democracy at that time. Being tested by practice, Liu Shaoqi's democratic ideas today seem more precious, and highlight the precious value of the times. They are worthy of our in-depth study.The research object of this paper is Liu Shaoqi's democratic thought since the founding of new China. The paper conducts a systematic investigation on Liu Shaoqi's democratic ideas by putting them into specific historical process. The paper analyzes the contents and features of Liu Shaoqi's democratic thought. The paper not only fully expounds the theoretical value of Liu Shaoqi's democratic thought, but also analyzes his ideas'enlightenment significance to developing socialist democratic politics with Chinese characteristics.The paper is divided into five parts:The first part is introduction. It mainly introduces the thesis'research significance, research status, research content, research methodology, and its innovation and insufficient. These presentations further prove the feasibilities of this study.Following is the body part. Body part is divided into four chapters,The first chapter explains the formation and development of Liu Shaoqi's democratic ideas. First, the paper points out the historical background of Liu Shaoqi's democratic ideas; Second, Liu Shaoqi's democratic ideas is to the inheriting of Marxism Leninism democracy of inherit and development, and the judgment absorption that originally thoughts to the China's traditional and Western bourgeois democratic ideas; Third, it analyzes the formation and development of Liu Shaoqi's democratic ideas in stages. This is a completely accurate understanding of Liu Shaoqi's democratic ideas that must be involved in basic research. Liu Shaoqi's democratic ideas are related to the revolution and construction which he engaged in his lifetime. Making objective and fair assessment on him by the Marxist stand, viewpoint and method has great significance. Having a deep understanding of Liu Shaoqi's exploration of the socialist democratic thought not only enriches and develops Mao Zedong's democratic ideas, but also opens the harbinger of Deng Xiaoping's initiation of socialism democratic political construction road with Chinese characteristics.
