In the wake of a new turn of a promotion about education reform, student club activities, which are rich and varied and also draw close to the thoughts and interest of high-school students, are affecting the thoughts of high-school students by their unique ways and playing a vital role in broadening their scope of knowledge, practicing their all-round abilities, revealing individualities, raising team spirits, enriching campus cultures, and so on. They have become the indispensable and organic parts of campus lives to high-school students. In recent years, the research to student club activities of high-school students has already become an important domain which domestic educators and psychologists pay much attention to. The goal of this research is to investigate the present situation of motives that Dalian high-school students go in for student club activities and to generate constructive suggestions on establishment and effective development of student clubs. This research mainly employs documentary study, interview method and questionnaire method. The processes are as follows: First, based on the six dimensions theory which is about motives of the high-school students go in for student club activities and based on the methods of document retrieval and interview, this research compiles a questionnaire of "The investigation and research of the motives that Dalian high-school students go in for student club activities". Second, the research is to carry on projects analysis and exploring factors analysis to the questionnaire, thus screens the projects and confirms the structure of motives that the high-school students go in for the student club activities. Third, the research is to conduct the quantitative investigations on the motives of 200 participants coming from three high-schools in Dalian, and then to discuss the level and present situation of the motives. Finally, based on data statistics and analysis, the research conclusion is generated and corresponding suggestions are put forward to. The conclusions are:First, there are five dimensions about the motives that the high-school students go in for student club activities, including the contacts, the interests, the entertainments, the achievements and the others; Second, the meter of "The investigation and research of the motives that Dalian high-school students go in for student club activities" is in good credibility and effect, and it can be used as the questionnaire to judge the motives; Third, the motives are mainly are arranged by the schools, attracted by promotion and publicity, following others and for entertainment, not for interest and specialty development, furthermore, there are certain differences in motives between students of different sex, grades, duties, but they are not remarkable. Based on the conclusions, this research makes several education suggestions to help student clubs in high-school gain sound development.
