The globalization of the current economy, polity and culture of the world is becoming more and more deeply, the contact of the countries around the world is also intimater than before. English plays an especially important role in enhancing and closing the countries'contact as an international language used by the people in most countries of the world. In our country, English has become a curriculum in most elementary schools and middle schools, and English education has been given more and more attention. People have found some problems about our country's English education while English studying is more and more popular. Our students always have a high score in the exam whereas their behavior is not so good in real social condition, students under our education will always encounter obstruction in real social condition, of which there is a distinct phenomena, that is our students can always express foreign culture whereas it is difficult for them to express Chinese culture.According to the current problems of our country's English education, the research choose the junior middle school English textbooks which are especially important for students'studying as the research object, and analyze the cultural content from the view of the culture that is crucial to the cultural intercommunion in today's junior middle school English textbook, and to find whether there is a cultural unbalance phenomena in the junior middle school English textbooks.The research discusses the theory basis on the English textbooks first and locates the English text books'cultural function. Then, by content analytic method and document methodology, the research analyzes and classifies the textbooks'cultural content concretely, try to find whether there is a cultural unbalance phenomena in the junior middle school English textbooks. If it exists, the research will analyze the factor produced by the problems, and discuss the significance of the reasonable configure textbooks'cultural content. Finally, there is the research's conclusion and a few suggestions about the reasonable configure of the middle school English textbooks'cultural content.According to the contents that have been said above, there are five parts in the structure on the research.Part one: Preface. The study problems'putting forward,study significance and study purpose.Part two: English textbooks'domestic and international study actuality.Part three: The theory study of English textbooks'cultural content. First, the research discriminates the several relevant concepts. Then, there is a general discuss about the textbooks'cultural content, on the basis of that, the research discusses English textbooks'cultural function. Finally, the research puts forward its theory basis-curriculum's cultural character, multicultural education theory, Hymes'communication theory and the theory of cultural intercommunion.Part four: The study of the unbalance phenomena of English textbooks'cultural content. This part is the research's emphasis. These part deeply classifies and analyzes the cultural content of the junior middle school textbook《English(go for it)》pressed by the People Education Press in 2007 by content analytic method. The part mainly be expounded from two points of view, and we find the factors that affect the cultural content of English textbooks from three aspects, at the same time, we expound the significance of the reasonable configure textbooks'cultural content.Part five: The conclusion and the suggestions of the research. We first sum up the conclusion on the basis of the analysis and study on the junior middle school English textbooks'cultural content. Then we give several suggestions about the reasonable configure textbooks'cultural content after its principle be gived. Finally, there is the innovation and deficiency of the research.
