The Role Of The Government In The Development Of Private Universities In China

Private universities are important part of the Higher education system, and they become the important strut strength of Higher education in many countries. The private universities of our country have gained a lot of achievements, but compared with the foreign countries', there are still exist many problems such as management system which hinder the development of them. In these problems, how to definite the role of the government in the development of private universities is a basic and crux problem.This article begin with the theoretical model of private universities and government, to by way of contrast the situation between the private universities and government, to discuss different models between the private universities and government and the role of foreign governments on private universities.Then take Jiangxi province which is one of the provinces famous for its higher education as an example, to analyze the status of government management on private universities, and evidenced by this to discuss the role of the government in the development of private universities.The total study route of this article:expound the origin and the studies situation of this the problem, define the basic concepts and explains my ideas and basic methods I use In the first part of the thesis. In the second part, I analysis the theoretical model and mode of practice of the relationship between the government and the private universities from two aspects:theory and practice, and two dimensions:the domestic and foreign. Last I reveal the general situation and basic questions of the management of government on private universities. In the third part, some private universities were taken as the examples, according to the analysis of these cases, there are some questions had been reflected under the conditions of our country. At the same time, the situation of role of our government in the management of private universities can also be seen more clearly. Based on the analysis before. I put forward the measures and suggestions of the role of government in the development of private universities from sides of the transformation of government functions and other aspects such as the function of supervision and guidance.
