Self-education, an effective way to develop the ability of lifelong study, is the foundation and premise of keeping the sustainable development.This thesis is mainly on how to make good use of the abundant, shared and multimedia internet resources and the more individual methods of study to better support the cultivation of college students' self-education. Integrating theory with practice, abiding by the principle of comprehensive generalization and inheritance and development, and studying both in theoretical base and operating practice are the basic mentalities of this article.Theoretically, through collecting, reading and analyzing the abundant literature on the internet environment, self-education and abilities of study, with the definition of the internet environment and the analysis of connotation of self-education, this thesis concerns about the basis of three theories which consider the cognitive learning theory, constructivism and behaviorism as the tactics of studying the college students'self-education. It also discusses the actual necessity of college students' self-education based on the effect of network environment. It holds that, first, college students' self-education is the requirement of developing the subjectivity and personality of college students, which strengthens and consolidates educational effects. Second, it can better achieve the target requirement of education. Third, it can enhance the identification ability and the immunity. Fourth, as a universal phenomenon nowadays, it is an effective way of lifelong education.On the practical research and the operational aspect, I first surveyed on the effect of network on college students, which based on the purpose of college students suffering the Internet and the influence of network on college students. The survey result tells that the internet has both good and bad effects on college students' studies. The internet informationizes the new generation and enriches their life. It has more positive effects than the negative ones, but at the same time, it affects the values and morals of college students. Second, I investigated and analyzed the current situation of college students' self-education based on the network environment, the investigation illustrates that time for college students' self-education is generally short, satisfying their inner needs is the students' motivation for self-education. Yet, the hindering factors of self-education distribute evenly, various factors hinder college students' self-education in various degrees. No matter sub-way interaction, independent management or giving up will hinder the efficiency of self-education; it is high time that we intensified college students'self-education based on the network environment. The theoretical research findings of college students' self-education based on the effect of network environment, connected with the investigation and analysis of current circumstances of it, shows that the network environment self-education of college students should be equipped with such abilities as self-recognition, self-management, learning technique and the ability to make choices and so on. Principles of college students' self-education based on the network environment involve principle of times, principle of main subject, principle of practice, principle of combination of self-education and guide training, principle of coordination of positive adoptions and active development, principle of unity of based on standing, emotion, thoughts and behavior, and principle of fusion of self-education and general education.My thesis argues a few principles ways of college students' self-education based on the effect of network environment. These ways are as following:first, to reinforce the ideological foundation and guide students to establish self-concept of dialectical materialism; second, to determine the objectives of self-education; third, to stimulate learning motivation and enhance the level of self-education ability; fourth, to study information technology and be initiative to identify problems then solve them; fifth, to set up self-education-related course and focuses on their mental health education; sixth, to create reflection, imagination and emotional experience of college students' self-education; seven, to build a sound mechanism for college students' self-education and create a good environment for college students' self-education. By these principles and ways, the substantial results of college students' self-education based on the network environment will be improved.
