Since Chinese Basketball Association of First Division Team for Final Eight Match (CBA final eight for short) changing into Chinese New Basketball Alliance, CBA has experienced 15 seasons with integral improvement, promoted rapid development of Chinese basketball sports and injected new energy into world basketball sports. With further development of CBA league tournament to professionalization, marketization and internationalization, clubs have employed more and more foreign players, whose function has been represented in CBA league tournament. The original intention to employ foreign players is to master development trend of world basketball sports, learn and absorb new techniques and tactics, and accordingly improve team combat power and CBA integral level, however, due to Chinese basketball professionalization is still at the primary exploratory stage, analysis on CBA foreign player employment and management problems and explore development countermeasure obviously have certain practical significance in terms of employing foreign players.The research has analyzed CBA foreign player employment and management problems through document-data method, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics, logical reasoning and expert interview. Take current situation of foreign player employment and management system as breakthrough point, and take research on foreign player employment and management problems. The results indicate: current problems in CBA foreign player employment mainly include the following: clubs are short of funds; employment route is incomplete; league tournament is not attractive and special like for American players restricts employment scope. Current problems in CBA foreign player management mainly include the following: salary limitation system is incomplete; contract binding force is not enough; broker system is not mature; difference between Chinese and foreign culture leads to difficulty in management; language barrier and some foreign players are of low personalities.Aiming to current problems, we have brought forth main development countermeasures: master foreign players employment section and stress personality significance by mastering foreign players moral fiber data, learning from NBA rookie selection system and building player information database; adopt various entrance ticket type and multiple-channel developing and operating market to realize multi-channel management of clubs and provide economic guarantee for employing excellent foreign players; strengthen sense of belonging of foreign players to team; improve strength by strengthening domestic players exercises and reserve training, and attract foreign players at higher level; strengthen law consciousness and abide by the laws; train management talents fully reinforced.
