Zhongxiang City, Hubei Elderly Elderly Longevity Reasons

The study objects of this paper is the oldest-old living in ZhongXiang, Hubei Province. Through descriptive analysis, the author hopes to widely and deeply know the present basic situation and characters of the oldest old people, as well as to know the reason of longevity. The thesis is organized as following. Part 1 is the preface. The study issue, objectives, research background, and significances are presented. The related concepts and theories, the study method, documents summarize were introduced briefly. Part 2 analyzed the basic situation and characteristics of the longevity combining with the questionnaire survey results. Part 3 analyzes the study outcomes through several factors, such as the gender and genetic, natural environment, social support and individual factors. Part 4 analyzed the difficulties and solutions.The thesis focused on the reasons for longevity. Gender and genetic factors are objective factors and can not be changed. Individual factors have their peculiarities. There were good natural environment before. But why so few long-lived people in the past and so many now? Social factors contributed. As social factors are complex, such as the political, economic, cultural, religious, custom, psychological aspect. So we can't list all social factors on the elderly health impact.It is not necessary. Some aspects may have nothing to do with health. This paper emphatically discussed the social support for elderly longevity from family, government, community, neighborhood, the nursing home; and drew a conclusion in the end.
