| The rapid development of network technology has affected all aspects of social life. The application of network-based virtual community in education has changed the past characteristics that teaching and learning lacked communication and exchange. BBS is a kind of commonly used virtual learning exchange space where community members can have thematic discussions, exchange ideas, share knowledge and solve the problem cooperatively about some opinions and issues. Learning behaviors of community members can be summed up as two forms of dialogue--cognition and participation, so the importance should be attached to not only studying the cognitive characteristics, but also analyzing its members' participation features. Currently, the empirical research on virtual learning communities from the social network perspective is still at a development stage. Certain developmental space and value still exists for such research. This thesis selects "Pioneer Primary Composition Forum", gathers all the thematic posts and replies in the four typical forums of the virtual community within a certain period of time, forms matrix by coding and uses UCINET software to calculate variables such as density, connectivity, point degree centrality, subgroup and so on. It studies from the perspective of the social network the situation and frequency of the actual social interaction between the virtual learning community members at three levels that are whole, individuals and small groups, reveals the participation characteristics of the composition forum members and gives advice on how to promote association with each other. To make this study tend to be better, finally this article elementarily studies the content of the posts though it is not involved in social network analysis, and furthermore makes suggestions on how to promote the formation of high quality thematic posts. |
