With the support of multi-media and network technology and the guidance of learning theory, the construction of educational virtual community is developing quickly. However, the construction of educational virtual community mainly concern on the material aspects of the design and construction, and the research on communication in educational virtual communities is not deep enough. Especially the effective communication among community members has been neglected. And the educational virtual communities do not play to their own advantages in the fields of education applications. So we need to research for the appropriate guidance and strategies for people to follow and to find the principles of communication in the educational virtual community. For this, the research is raised to find the strategies and methods for the construction of educational virtual communities.Based on the participation in the communication within communities, through the investigation and analysis of domestic and foreign literature, and combining case studies and theoretical investigation, the research analyzes the connotation, elements and value of communication in educational virtual communities and expounds that the metacognition of undergraduates is significant to communication in communities. Regarding "Sky Classroom" as a case, the research analyzes the effects of communication in educational virtual communities and the impact that the metacognition of undergraduates hased on communication in educational virtual communities. And we have drawn a conclusion that the linear correlation between metacognition and the effects of communication in educational virtual communities is notable. At last, the author put forward strategies of raising the level of metacognition of undergraduates as to improve the effects of communication in educational virtual communities.
