As the policy of encouraging university graduate to be village officials is in full swing, the expansion of university-graduate village officials has become an irresistible trend. How to make the growing group obtain further development on the way of being village officials? Certain assistance should be provided to their work, besides; their life should also be paid close attention and concerned. Only when they adapt to the local life, can they finish their work well and stay in the villages for a longer time. As an important part of life, interpersonal communication produces crucial influence and significance on the work and life of university-graduate village officials.Supported by sociological interpersonal communication theory and based on several methods of documents, questionnaires and case interview, this essay has made empirical study on the current situation of interpersonal communication of university-graduate village officials in Hubei province and analyzed the reasons for such situation from individual factors, their work, policy implementation and other people's attitude. Following are the main research results.In village, university-graduate village officials mainly work with the village affair workers who are usually college students serving in the villages, village and town cadres, and villagers. From either communication frequency or communication substance, they have the most contact with village affair workers. Next to the village affair workers, university-graduate village officials work with villager and town cadres in a second most frequent way, but they communication substance only touch on the work. Moreover, university-graduate village officials find it most difficult to handle the relationship with local cadres. In the last place, they have fewest intercourses with villagers. University-graduate village officials give rise to different subjective feelings when they contact with different partners. They think the contact with village affair workers is most significant while that with villagers is the least significant.The current situation of interpersonal communication of university-graduate village officials has been caused by various reasons. First, from the individuality, most of them are graduated before long and in lack of interpersonal communication skills. They are still likely to choose communicating partners according to their fondness. Second, in view of the implementation of policy of university-graduate village officials, at present, most of them are temporarily transferred to towns so that they have no time and opportunity to enter into village and communicate with villagers. Besides, such work entrapment disgruntles those village officials who boast ambition to make great achievement in villages. Third, starting from the work itself, in our country, most the young and adults in villages go to city to look for better jobs while the old, women and children leave in the villages. Therefore, it is hard for university-graduate village officials to find a partner to communicate with deeply. At last, the attitude of their parents and local residents can affect greatly the interpersonal communication of university-graduate village officials.In conclusion, this essay put forward corresponding measures and suggestions to boost interpersonal communication level of university-graduate village officials and improve their current situation.
