It is a matter of fundamental importance to promote national unity to carry out the ethnic solidarity education among all teenagers and guide them to firmly develop national unity consciousness. It is essential to carry out the ethnic solidarity education with history teaching as the primary method and help them to form correct view of nation and the scientific outlook on development, also to have a profound understanding of social phenomenon which has happened recently and keep a clear mind. History teaching should persevere in patriotism education which is based on national unity, enable the student to strengthen national unity consciousness, to safeguard national unity and territorial sovereignty. This article attempts to make this theme full-scale discussed from overall perspectives, for sake of deepening the teachers'understanding and give an effective guidance to teaching practice.The thesis contains three parts: introduction, text and epilogue. The introduction is about the sources and meaning of this topic, as well as the summary of former academic research. The text can be divided into five chapters. The first chapter introduces and evaluates the theory of relevant conception. The next three chapters are the main part of the whole thesis, which separately elaborates the importance, main points and methods of cultivating consciousness of nation solidarity in Junior Middle School history teaching. The fifth chapter proposes two considerations in cultivating that.The author argues that the cultivation of consciousness of nation solidarity is essential for them to crack down on ethnic separatist activities and carry out the obligation of safeguarding the unity of the nationalities. It will be beneficial to the national unity and social stability. At the same time, it will make the economies grow faster and better, promote the building of harmonious class and campus and enhance quality-oriented education. The contents of the cultivation of consciousness of nation solidarity include the cultivation of consciousness of nation equality, the cultivation of the Chinese nation national consciousness and the cultivation of civic consciousness. The methods of the cultivation of consciousness of nation solidarity include the teaching in class and after class. In the end, we points that during teaching we should try to combine history and reality, also make clear the relationship between nation and religion.For some of my personal reasons such as lack of ability and knowledge, there must exists some mistakes and even serious errors in the thesis, which I hope the experienced experts and scholars could point out and give some valuable suggestions, and the author will be deeply grateful.
