Teacher's morality, life and values and behavior will profoundly affect the students'construction of social image and the healthy growth of their bodies and mind. Carrying out the study of teachers'impression management tactics in classroom has very important significance for the enrichment of our country's studies in the fields of impression management, the enhancement of their teaching and the improvement of education cause. But looking at the existing researches。The studies of teachers'Impression management have been mostly focused on the qualitative analysis and appropriate measurement tools are more lacking.Taking a background of our country's education, this study developed the questionnaire of impression management tactics of primary and secondary school teachers in classroom, conducted the present situation investigation of impression management tactics in classroom of primary and secondary school teachers and then discussed the relationships between impression management tactics in classroom and their affecting factors.There are mainly two parts of this study:(1) the first is to workout and edit the research tool. Based on the results of literature review, questionnaire, interviews and expert evaluation, this study determined initially the structure of items of impression management tactics in classroom of primary and secondary school teachers, and formed the original questionnaire of impression management tactics in classroom for primary and secondary school teachers. Then pre-examination was made with the original questionnaire of impression management tactics, the ready-made self-esteem questionnaire, self-monitoring questionnaire and internal-external locus of control questionnaire. Through item discrimination, internal consistency analysis and exploratory factor, the predictive questionnaires was edited, and the formal ones were resulted in. (2) the second is to investigate impression management tactics and its affecting factors. Confirmatory factor, reliability and validity, correlation, variance analysis and the t-test were taken, so as to probe into the predictive effect of self-esteem, self-monitoring and locus of control on impression management tactics in classroom of primary and secondary school teachers. At the same time, this study reviewed the impact of demography variables.The results of this study were mainly as follows: (1) The self-edited questionnaire of primary and secondary school teachers' impression management tactics in classroom takes on rather high level of reliability and validity and validated the model of primary and secondary school teachers'impression management tactics in classroom offered by this study. The questionnaire consists of six factors and 24 items: intimidation consists of 5 items; ingratiation, enhancement, exemplification and disclaimer consist of 4 items each; supplication consists of 3 items.(2) The impression management tactics of primary and secondary school teachers in classroom have differences in age, education level, school type and teaching age, but no significant difference in gender.(3) Self-esteem and self monitoring have positively predictive effect on the impression management tactics of primary and secondary school teachers in classroom. Locus of control has a negative one. Both of them can affect the specific types of impression management tactics used in classroom.
