In this paper, on the basic reviews of the impression management, the self-monitoring theories and also the influences between self-monitoring and impression management, uses empirical analysis methods and tries to explore the college students’ self-monitoring levels on their management behaviors effects in the interviews. Three dimensions of the five assumptions are verified. Firstly, whether there is still a positive correlation between self-monitoring and impression behaviors in Chinese culture; Secondly, find the differences between high self-monitors and low self-monitors in choosing impression strategies; Finally, to check whether the number of interviews plays the moderator variable role. Then send questionnaires to 300 college students and received 262 valid answers. Through statistic analysis via SPSS, the results show that in ingratiation strategies, there are significant differences between high self-monitors and low self-monitors; they would prefer self-promotion strategies to ingratiation strategies for low self-monitors and the differences are significant; the times of interviews the college students attended does not influence the correlation between self-monitoring and impression management.
