The Compilation And Application Of The PE Teacher's Impression Management Scale

Impression management of physical education teachers is a way to manage their career. Physical education teachers as a social professional,he not only to teach, but also to educate themselves as a model of education to educate and influence students.The image of a good physical education teacher directly affects the establishment of the prestige and the influence of the physical education teachers. Therefore, this paper has compiled the scale of physical education teachers' impression management, and has carried on the application, has initially discussed the physical education teacher impression management in the demography variable and the self-respect, the self-control, the control source relations.This study follows the literature review - the dimension of the concept - the collection of items - prediction questionnaire - the implementation of measurement - a formal questionnaire - Preliminary Research ideas. First, access to domestic and foreign literature, summed up the general dimension of impression management, open questionnaire and interview outline,preliminary idea of PE teachers determine the dimensions of impression management, combined with the literature, open questionnaire and semi-structured interviews and other research methods to collect items prepared for prediction questionnaire, prediction questionnaire strictly after application test, the data collected for the project analysis, factor analysis and validity inspection procedures, remove individual items, get the formal questionnaire; at the same time a reference to foreign self-esteem, self-monitoring questionnaire and internal external locus of control (are translated version) tested and revised to improve the fitness of physical education teachers. Then the PE Teachers' impression management scale with the revised questionnaire of foreign measurement facilities at the same time, finally, the data obtained by average, standard deviation, independent sample t test and one-way analysis of variance,correlation,regression analysis, to explore the characteristics of PE teachers and impression management scale and dimensions on demographic variables the difference and relationship between self-esteem, self-monitoring and locus of control; and put forward suggestions for PE Teachers' impression management of this population.The conclusions are as follows:(1) the physical education teachers' impression management scale has good reliability and validity. The scale consists of 31 items, including 7 dimensions, surface modification of 4 items from 3 items; tree model; self display 4 items; prior statement of 4 items and 5 items; self promotion; good 7 items; 4 entry deterrence.(2) the sports teachers' impression management overall score in the medium(M=3.204), the use of PE Teachers' impression management from high to low:appearance modification,self display,self promotion,self declaration,tree example,overtures, deterrence.(3) there are significant differences in the impression management of physical education teachers in gender, educational background, teaching experience and teaching.(4) the impression management of physical education teachers has a positive predictive effect on self-esteem and self-monitoring of physical education teachers.Recommendations are as follows:Physical education teachers from set up the correct view of teachers and students,strengthen the knowledge learning and teaching to establish correct values and so deepen the PE teachers teaching concept; establish a firm belief in education, improve the teachers' occupation maturity of the physical education teachers to improve internal quality; strengthen the external decoration of the non linguistic factors;enhance language ability; suggestions for the physical education teachers to meet students' role expectations, in order to achieve the impression management to serve the purpose of sports teaching.
