Relations across the Taiwan Straits are always the focus among Chinese nation, but most of the studies on Chinese traditional culture across the Taiwan Straits concentrate on culture communication and cooperation. Few of them are empirical researches, especially on the research of attitudes from Fujian and Taiwan toward Chinese traditional culture. University students are the fresh troops in the future and the potential power pushing forward the nation's development, their growth is worth considering, as a result, studying university students'attitudes toward Chinese traditional culture can make contribution to culture education practice.Fujian and Taiwan have the same root and source, but it does not mean that their attitudes toward Chinese traditional culture are alike. In order to learn about Fujian and Taiwan students'views, this thesis designs an experiment, which is divided into three parts:part 1, evaluate explicit attitudes toward Chinese and western traditional culture; part 2, employ Implicit Association Test(IAT) to evaluate attitudes toward Chinese traditional culture; part 3, recognition of the culturally-loaded words collocated with attributive words. The results of the experiment demonstrate that Fujian university students'implicit and explicit attitudes toward Chinese traditional culture are more positive than those toward western traditional culture. Taiwan university students'implicit and explicit attitudes toward Chinese traditional culture are not significantly different from those toward western traditional culture; the difference between Fujian and Taiwan university students'implicit and explicit attitudes toward western traditional culture is not significant; the implicit and explicit attitudes toward Chinese traditional culture from Fujian and Taiwan university students show significant difference.
