Geographical concept is a highly condensed summary of geographical objects and abstract,reflecting the evolution of the geographical nature of things and their properties,which is an important part of basic knowledge of geography. It is the key to understand basic geography rules. Geography in high school is an interdisciplinary. Among the great quantity of concepts,there are a lot of geographic terminology and noun, which are hard for students to learn,that's the focus and difficulty of high school teaching. Intuitive methods,mainly based on direct perception,is an important part of theory teaching as well as an crucial method to help students to understand and master the basic disciplines and laws of geography.In this paper,after doing a full collection of reference books and papers about teaching of geography concept s,and doing extensive reading of the previous concept of visual tools in teaching methods in geography,then we give the background of this study and the study theoretical and practical significance. The characteristics of high school geography teaching,from the research on geographical concept begin,we do a summary of the concept of geographical characteristics,classification.Common visually teaching methods for the classification and were systematically summarized. A questionnaire survey form,we make a survey to the six high school teachers who have the visual means from their means to an understanding of the recognition and application. Survey results showed that teachers generally agree that the concept of visual tools for teaching geography has a very important role and significance. Application Tactics,there are two problems. First,there is no means to address the emergence of modern multimedia abuse of multimedia,ignored the dominant position of teachers and students;The second is that teachers use visual means of which the lack of theoretical basis of teaching,most teaching experience according to their own choice. In connection with these problems,in the fourth section,the writer give the geographical concept teaching strategies with visual tools ,which provide a theoretical reference. In the fifth part,this paper gives some teaching experiment with some classes in a high school. The results show that the concept of visual means of supporting the teaching of geography can help students remember the concept of geography, performance has improved significantly. On this basis,this paper has given an instance of the teaching of geography, by the case study of teaching a lesson of Russia to help teachers how to choose a visual tool to inspire students ability to think and to bring up students geographical thinking skillfully,giving examples for reference. Finally,the results of this study are summarized;Visual means play an important role in geography teaching.Besides in full use of these teaching methods,teachers should be familiar with a variety of means to play the dominant position of teachers and students,with visual teaching methods,teachers should teach geography commendably and students learn the geographical concept primly.
