The image of teachers is one area that has garnered particular attention in teacher education. The ideal image of teachers has characteristics of the race, education and time. And it reflects the social expectation of the image of teachers. The teacher metaphor is the carrier of social expectation, which epitomizes the exemplary image of teachers in the certain period.The ideal image of teachers is the pathetic dedicator as the candle and the spring silkworm, the knowledge transmission as a pail of water and the technical expert as the engineer and the gardener in the sight of the traditional teacher metaphor.
