At present,the development of artificial intelligence technology continues to mature,and the scope of artificial intelligence's impact on social life is gradually expanding.In the field of education,more and more emphasis is placed on enabling artificial intelligence to empower education.With the deepening of the application of artificial intelligence in the field of education,teachers,as the main body of education and teaching activities,need to reshape the role of teachers to face the new changes in the educational environment.Therefore,paying attention to the development of the teacher's role has become a focal topic that needs to be paid attention to in the educational reform in the context of artificial intelligence.At present,primary school students are the future talent reserve,and education for this group must keep up with the times,so special attention should be paid to the changing role of primary school teachers.By combing the relevant literature,this study believes that the era of artificial intelligence puts forward three new requirements for the role of teachers: changing the view of knowledge and emphasizing intelligence;strengthening the concept of technology and paying attention to integration;attaching importance to values and cultivating human nature.Under the requirements of this era,teachers are required to change their roles,from the authority of knowledge to the sifter of information knowledge,from the imparter of knowledge to the ferry of students' growth and development,from the simple user of multimedia equipment to the collaborative application of artificial intelligence,and from the omnipotent educator to the professional developer with personality.At the same time,in the context of the new era,teachers should also adhere to the essence of education,adhere to the role of curriculum designer,guarantor of classroom teaching management,evaluator of students' learning,explorer of educational research and practitioner of lifelong learning,and truly do a good job in building morality and cultivating people.Metaphor,as the basic way of human cognition,helps us express our understanding and experience of another thing with the help of rich image things,which is of great significance for the study of the role of teachers in the era of artificial intelligence.It can help teachers understand their personal role of teachers,reflect on themselves and change their roles according to the needs of the times.Therefore,this study takes 262 primary school teachers as the research object,and conducts a systematic study on the role of teachers in the context of the artificial intelligence era through questionnaires,metaphor analysis and interviews.It is found that primary school teachers believe that AI has a certain impact on the shaping of teachers' role,but it does not bring a strong sense of crisis to teachers' career;primary school teachers' recognition of the role of traditional teachers has significant differences in teaching age.Primary school teachers with more than 11 years of teaching age and 6-10 years of teaching age have significantly higher recognition of the role of traditional teachers than primary school teachers with 1-5 years of teaching age respectively;Moreover,compared with the traditional role of teachers,primary school teachers more agree with the role of teachers in the era of artificial intelligence,but the metaphors created by primary school teachers reflect that they still play more traditional roles of teachers in the actual teaching work,such as nurturer,devotee,survivor,deliverer and so on.Through investigation and research,it is found that there is a certain imbalance between primary school teachers' role identification and behavior.On the one hand,it is because primary school teachers' cognition of artificial intelligence and its role as teachers is biased and the initiative is not strong;On the other hand,it is due to the impact of external resistance,such as insufficient and unbalanced AI application and training equipment in primary schools,excessive pressure on various administrative work in schools,and insufficient understanding and cognition of AI by parents.Finally,it puts forward some suggestions to optimize the role of teachers under the background of artificial intelligence.Teachers should actively change their personal ideas and mentality and constantly improve their personal professional quality and ability;schools should establish and improve teacher education and training,strengthen teacher evaluation and assessment system,and reduce the administrative burden of teachers;education administrative departments need to refine and implement relevant policy guarantees and increase investment in the construction of artificial intelligence in schools;and rely on social forces to build a collaborative network,and use pairing to play a leading role.As an important research tool,metaphor helps to promote teachers to express their understanding of their role;It also helps researchers to reveal teachers' cognition of personal responsibilities and educational ideas,understand the problems and needs encountered by teachers in the process of shaping their roles,and then re-plan teacher education to meet the training objectives of the era of artificial intelligence.Therefore,in the future research on the role of teachers,we can further enrich the use of metaphor.In addition to adding semi-structured sentences,we can also collect and analyze the metaphors created by teachers by drawing and explaining metaphorical pictures,writing teaching logs and so on.At the same time,this way can also be regularized to promote primary school teachers to strengthen their cognition and reflection on their roles,find and solve problems,so as to continuously improve themselves.
