This research reports an experimental study on training of English reading strategies. The study is designed mainly to investigate the using circumstance in which the students apply reading strategies, and then the author summarizes some valid reading strategies to carry on training to the students. The author tries to get the answer whether reading strategies training will improve the students' consciousness of strategy use and improve their reading comprehension ability. In addition, the study pays as much attention to the process of the strategy training as to the outcome, hoping to find out a feasible way of incorporating strategy training into the regular class curriculum, which can be employed to promote the teaching practice in reading class and ultimately benefit students' reading practice both in and out of class. In this study, two accounting classes with 100 students in Guang Dong Commercial School are sampled (with 50 students in each class), class 1 as experimental group and class 2 as control group. The students in the experimental group receive a three-month reading strategies training. The way for training is to combine the single-item strategy training and integrating reading training together. All of the subjects took the pre-training test and post-training test, and filled out a pre-training questionnaire and a post-training questionnaire. In addition, six subjects were interviewed after the strategies training. The results of the data analysis show that the reading strategies training can improve the students' consciousness of strategy use and improve their reading comprehension ability.
