Individual differences existing objectively have a significant impact on students'study, and it have also been growing concern of educators. However, the concept of differentiated instruction is approved by the majority of educators, while we are rarely able to see the differentiated instruction of the true sense in teaching practice. The cause for seeking, in addition to our lack of the theory of differentiated instruction, the sharp conflict between the individual differences of students and the traditional class teaching mode is a an important factor for the phenomenon. The proposed of blended learning provides a new idea and method for the application of differentiated instruction in teaching classroom.It has been becoming an important issue that how to combine blended learning with the concept of differentiated instruction and then integrate into daily teaching better. Therefore, this paper carried out the research of differentiated instruction based on blended learning.First of all, based on lots of references investigation, illustrate the connotation of differentiated instruction, the causes of individual differences, the characteristics of individual differences, several major variables of individual differences affecting students'study, and the related theoretical basis, including the main educational theory, the mastery learning theory, the constructivist learning theory, etc, to lay the theoretic foundation for subsequent research; Secondly, Based on a summary of the definition and connotation of differentiated instruction, give some design principles,and put forward a design model for differentiated instruction based on blended learning, taking some relevant theory as guideline. This model divides the whole design process into four links, which are differences measurement, front-end analysis, teaching strategies designing and teaching evaluation. Subsequently elaborate the design thinking of the four links; Finally, based on the network platform self-designing, apply this model into teaching practice, and then verify the effectiveness and feasibility though questionnaire and interview.The practice result indicates that the model is not only feasible but also effectively. It has the approval of the most of the students, whose teaching application can stimulate the enthusiasm of students and is advantageous for students to grasp the knowledge, foster their self-learning ability, self-testing and problem solving ability,etc. It has important realistic significance for deepening educational reform and improving the quality of class teaching.
