Students'transition from arithmetic to algebra is the transition from thinking about the number to symbols and is a giant leap of their thoughts from specific to general and image to abstract. Although present new mathematics curriculum in elementary school arranged a rich algebraic learning materials, which aimed to help students develop the ability of algebraic thinking and transit from arithmetic thinking to algebraic thinking. But the arrangement of materials is lack of a bedding of systematic, level of training and the arrangement of individual content and structure is chaotic. Therefore, students are not able to gradually promote the formation and development of algebraic thinking. Besides, the focus of teaching and the students' cognitive level of thinking decide that students continue to be based on arithmetic; sixth grade students have poor performance in using algebra to solve problems. So in seventh grade, we must grasp the opportunity to develop students'algebraic thinking. To help students form algebraic thinking rapidly at this critical stage of entry has an important significance. In the interviews with teachers of seventh grade and during many teaching activities, many teachers raised that a considerable number of seventh grade students don't know what to do with the equations and inequalities in which the letter symbols represent the coefficients. They even have a superficial knowledge of the letter symbols concept and feel fear for solving practical problems. We can say whether students form good algebraic thinking will directly affect the follow-up study, such as functions. This paper is based on the algebra study of seventh grade students using literature research method, questionnaire survey and case study. Combined with the present situation of teaching requirements and teaching practice of algebra in primary school, this article carries on the teaching practice of the formation of the algebra thinking of seventh grade students focusing on the following topics: how to help students overcome difficulties in algebra study; how to achieve a rapid formation of algebra thinking among the students in grade seven. This paper also includes research on students'symbol consciousness, equation and equation solution, inequality, variable description and multivariate characterization through teaching practice.
