Solid geometry is a classic curriculum in Mathematics. The education of spatial imagination ability is a key to the system of Mathematics curriculum in Secondary Vocational School. It is becoming more and more important after the new curriculum reform. However, there is not much systemic research about the training of spatial ability of Secondary Vocational School students in China by now.This paper studies on the related theories of using literature retrieval to establish the theoretical foundation and define what is the ability of spatial imagination. The current teaching status of both imagination ability and solid geometry are analyzed through questionnaires and interviews with students and teachers. The investigation showed that student's ability of spatial imagination is very important to the teaching of solid geometry. The current status is as follow: insufficient knowledge links, perceptional difficulties of space and graph, difficulties in problem-prove writing, and weak ability of logical thinking.Considering the student situation in studying and combining teaching experiment mentioned above with both the levels of spatial imagination ability and training strategies at domestic and abroad, the paper propose four methods how to rasie the student's ability of spatial imagination. The four method's are breadth (expanding studnt's background and view, paying attention to their interesting and different subjects joining and giving them more practicing ), depth (Improving different ways of thinking to make mathematics to be more simple ), aesthetics (Weakening of the difficulty of knowledge and Inspiring student curiosity) and efficacy (Guaranteeing sufficient course and getting the teaching objectives). This thesis offers theoretical support and methodical reference for teacher's teaching and student's learning of solid Geometry. Basing on the four methods mentioned above, this paper has designed the teaching tests of solid geometry for the students in Secondary Vocational School and used detection of test paper,statistical analysis and scale analysis in teaching experiment. The results showed that: the four methods are effective for improving the student's and perfecting the current teaching status of solid geometry in Secondary Vocational School.The innovation of the paper word is that some new teaching measurements have been put forward combining the teaching with the curriculum reform in solid geometry for different development stages of the ability of spatial imagination.
