Study On The Construction And Application Of The Discipline-oriented Subject Term Library

Subject term library is a dictionary constructed by standardized subject terms and their relations between each other which includes two parts:the words library for storing the subject terms, and the relation library for storing the relations between them. It is an important tool for the information organization and retrieval and is widely used. It can make the job of retrievaling relevant literatures conveniently, fast and scientifically. The subject term library for specific subject area can be used to construct vertical search engine targeted to specific subject area. Relations between the subject terms can be used as knowledge navigator. Moreover, the subject term library also can be applied in artificial intelligence, cloud computing and so on.Now related studies about subject term library have gained some achievements. But there is still some problems existing in the process of constructing the subject term library:the subject terms libraries now are finished manually, which needs a lot of manpower; furthermore, now all are about direct relations between subject terms in the library lacking the semantic relations. So, the study for constructing the subject term library for specific subject area is meaningful.This paper mainly studies the construction of subject term library for specific subject area with the Education Technology as the example. The main jobs are as followings:(1)Introduce the research status about subject term library and the related theoretical basis.(2)The key words extraction related algorithm is improved and realized; And an extraction method that combines file structure and statistics is suggested. This method is proved better than traditional TFIDF method in accuracy rate and recall by experiment.(3)Study the ISM algorithm to and use it in the excavation of implicit relationship of keywords, which achieves the formation of the hierarchy diagram of thematic words by using the ISM algorithm to excavate the implicit relationship between keywords.(4)Construct the subject term library with subject term extraction algorithm and relation mining algorithm.The characteristic features of this paper are the improvement of related algorithms of subject term extraction, the realization of implicit relation mining based on simple relations and the formation of hierarchy relationship chart. And in the end, this paper studies the application of it furthermore.
