As a newly emerging media, the internet has provides people's life not only with the convenience and efficiency, but also with certain negative influence. College student is the major group of the internet user because of their features. While enjoyed the convenience that the internet brings, college students also affected by the negative influence of the internet. The college students'social activities are restricted, and the social circle has became smaller and smaller by the reason of internet overuse. Exploring the relationship between the internet addiction disorder and loneliness of the college students to is the purpose of this research, which provide an empirical basis for college students use reasonably, experience less lonely feelings, solve puzzles and promote the development of the college students'mental healthy.In this paper, 776 college students from five universities were taken as the object. These college students were chosen from grade one, grade two, and grade three by the method of cluster random sampling. Young's internet addiction disorder scale and Russell's UCLA Loneliness Scale were used to investigate. The valid data were analyzed by SPSS 17.0 to explore the relationship between internet addiction disorder and loneliness of college students. Conclusions are as follows:(1)Among 700 valid questionnaires, 103 students meet the criterion of IAD, the incidence of internet addiction disorder is 14.7%, and most of them are low grade.(2)The differences of internet addiction disorder marks are significant in genders, grades, and there is a difference in specialties, but insignificant.(3)The differences of UCLA loneliness Scale marks are significant in grades, genders, and there is a difference between students of urban and students of rural, but insignificant.(4)The marks on the internet addiction disorder of college students have a significant and positive correlation with the marks on the UCLA loneliness Scale. The students who got high marks feel more loneliness.
