Plants Use. Hezhen Traditional Knowledge And Plant Resources

In this paper, based on Hezhe nationality, the investigation on traditional knowledge, diversity of plant uses and plant diversity in Hezhe People living areas was made. This research for digging and developing the traditional knowledge and culture of less populated ethnic group has important practical significance, which is beneficial to rational exploit and utilize plant resources and ensure sustainable development of environment, economy and society.Ethnobotanical knowledge which derived from Hezhe People was classified and catalogued. The diversities of plant resources in Hezhe People living areas were studied by quadrat method and quantitative measures were made to the current quantity of wild resource. The main results were reached as follows:(1)The types of plants and species diversity of three typical vegetations were investigated including mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest in Dadingzi moutain, Betula forest in Jiejinkou eastmoutain and planted forest in Aoqi. It showed that the dominant species were different in three communities and it had low species similarity level. The most abundant species populations and higher species eveness were focused on Dadingzishan Mountain.120species were recorded in the square field surveys, belonging to 57families,99genera, including19species of tree layer plants belonging to11families,12genera,16species of shrub layer plants belonging to9families and16genera,85species of Herb layer.(2)Estimate the ground biomass of herbaceous plants, biomass of arbors and shrubs according to the field investigation and relevant equation to further gain the quantity of wild resources in Hezhe living region. The result showed most plants with abundant resources such as Betula dahurica, Tilia amurensis, Pteridium aquilinum. Threatened species of Heilongjiang province and national protection plants had wider range of field distribution, but it had less resources and strengthen the protection and limit the development and utilization of the wild resources were needed.(3)There are four broad plant classifications according to the way of traditional utilizing and plant uses of Hezhe People including medicinal plants, edible plants, plants in local-style dwelling houses, plants in production and living appliances. Medicinal plants are54species belonging to34families,52genera, and it involves17different medicinal purposes and16species are regarded as special usage of Hezhe People. Wild edible plants are divided into two classes of wild fruit and wild vegetable, including31species wild vegetables belonging to25families,29genera,18species wild fruits belonging to9families,16genera. Traditional use of plants in local-style dwelling houses is22 species belonging to10families,14genera. Plants in production and living appliances are31species belonging to16families,21genera.
