As basketball has the advantage ofstrong public involvement, high entertainment and low requirement of playing field, itbecomes more and more popular among people. Especially it has become increasingpopular in university campus which of high concentration of young people, and hasbecome an important physical movement in the college life of college students. Basketballhas a wide spreading and fast development since the New China was founded. There has agreat change to the whole level, position and form of the university basketball movementin the last years. Especially as the appearing of the China's University BasketballAssociation (CUBA), the development of basketball movement becomes more rapid inthe universities in our country. Since the year1998when it was lunched to now, CUBAhas become the most influential and the most powerful college students' physicalmovement in our country, and it also has become a mirror of leading university physicaleducation culture of our country. By the continuing exploring, CUBA pushes basketballmovement to a new height among colleges and universities.This article is according to the undergraduate students as the object of research fromfour ordinary universities and colleges in the Huanggang area of Hubei Provence, whichare Huanggang Normal University, Huanggang Technology College, Edong ProfessionalTechnology College, Huanggang Professional Technology College. And uses manyresearching method, such as literature, questionnaire, mathematic statistics, logic analysis,expert consultation and so on, accesses to a large number of relevant curriculum theory,sports education, statistics and works or research about current situation of basketball,training arrangement, logistics guarantee, training methods, as well as make themathematic statistical analysis and research combining with the acuter situation. Theresult of the research tells us that these are main problems which influence thedevelopment of the common college student basketball in the Huanggang region:1. In thebasketball teaching class, the number of the class is partial more, the equipment is notenough, and do not teach students in accordance with their aptitude.2. The basketball atmosphere of the Huanggang is strong, however, the basketball activities aim at differentpeople are few. What's more, in the basketball match of college, the level of theparticipant player and the judgment is low, which makes it influenced each other andrestriction each other.3. I find out in the research that about90%colleges in theHuanggang region have no basketball team; one reason is that the shortage of talents withhigh level, another reason is that the available fund in school is limited, so these reasonslimit the whole development of the college basketball movement in the Huanggang region.4. Schools in the Huanggang region have basketball match sometimes, which canencourages the communication among the different departments, but between differentschools, there are few basketball matches, and almost never have basketball match withother regions.5. The equipment of colleges in the Eastern region is relatively backward.In the factor of basketball field,75%of colleges' field are cement site,25%are half of thecement and the plastic site. Otherwise, there are only colleges has basketball stadium, atherest is a simple gym mainly to wooden floor. Because of this, the development ofcollege student's basketball movement slowly. This article through to in anglicizing andsearch the problem in the development of college students' basketball of the Huanggangregion, come up with further improvement methods and countermeasures, aiming atoffering reference to better development of college students' basketball in the Huanggangregion.
