The International Comparisons On Difficulty Of Experiment Of High School Chemistry Textbooks

Experiment is an important part of the chemistry textbooks in high school, and it has great significance to carry on the scientific evaluation and comparison. This paper chose seven kinds of chemistry textbook as the research object, in the high schools of the United States. Britain, Australia and china. The author analyzed the measurement data quantitatively, which was measured under eight difficulty indexments, in hopes of being used by Chinese chemistry experiment textbooks of high school for reference.This research mainly adopts method of literature research and questionnaire to have a scientific research. This paper was consisted by two parts:1. Working out the Measuring toolsThe author collected and organized the relevant indicators of the textbook's difficulty from the literature, and identified effective indexes to measure the difficulty through the questionnaire. Finally, the author tested the validity of the indexes, defined the index's detailed measuring range, and attached points. Using the indexes, this research tested its reliability with15experiments from the textbooks, and finally formed a measuring tool.2. Comparative study of seven kinds of high school chemistry textbookWith the tools, the author separately measured the difficulty of the seven chemistry experimental textbooks from eight difficulty indexes in different countries or areas'high school. According to the measurement data, the author analyzed and compared quantitatively the difficulty of seven chemistry experimental textbooks.Research found that measuring tool was accurate and reliable, and validity is higher. In the actual measurement, the tool could reflect the difficulty and difference of high school chemistry experiment textbooks among the different countries or regions. The research showed there were obvious differences of difficulty from seven kinds of textbooks in different countries or areas, especially between Chinese and foreign textbook. Domestic experiment textbook should pay attention to guide students to think and explore effectively.
